The challenge
Wide temperature range, complex geometry, zero tolerance for thermal bridging
Industrial process plant operates across a wide temperature range — from cryogenic cold to high-temperature steam and process heat. No single insulation material spans the full range. The right specification matches the product to the operating temperature, the pipe OD and the required heat loss calculation.
Complex process plant geometry — flanges, valves, expansion loops, vessel nozzles — means a significant proportion of the insulation work involves non-standard profiles. CNC cutting reduces waste, speeds installation and eliminates the inconsistent results that come from site-trimming standard sections.
Our approach
The full temperature range from one supplier
For cold services and moderate-temperature process lines (up to +120°C), rigid PU is the specification default — best thermal value per millimetre and closed-cell structure prevents moisture ingress. PIR/PIC extends the temperature range to +150°C with improved fire performance where required.
For high-temperature applications above +150°C, Rockwool mineral wool is the correct material — rated to 750°C+ depending on product grade, non-combustible and dimensionally stable at elevated temperature. We supply the full Rockwool range as the authorised sub-Saharan distributor and can advise on the appropriate product for your operating conditions.
