Three decades of precision thermal insulation manufacture
Aerothane Applications was founded on a single premise: that specifiers and contractors deserve an insulation supplier who can match the precision of the drawings they bring. Thirty years later, that commitment drives everything we do — from our five CNC cutting machines to our same-day dispatch capability.
Based in Cape Town, we manufacture and distribute the full thermal and acoustic insulation spectrum. PU foam, PIR/PIC board, EPS, Rockwool, AeroWrap® NBR, Aspen Aerogels, ceramic fibre blankets, acoustic panels and PU chemical systems — all under one roof, all cut to your exact specification.
We work with HVAC contractors, construction companies, cold store installers, marine engineers and acoustic consultants across South Africa and the sub-Saharan region.

THERMAL · HOT & COLD
Polyurethane Foam (PU)
Rigid closed-cell PU foam in sheets, blocks or CNC-profiled pipe sections. Exceptional thermal conductivity (lambda as low as 0.022 W/mK), excellent compressive strength and moisture resistance. Operating temperatures from -200°C to +110°C.
THERMAL · HIGH TEMPERATURE
Polyisocyanurate (PIR/PIC)
Superior fire resistance and thermal performance versus standard PU. The specification choice for HVAC ductwork, cold storage panels and high-temperature process pipework. Available in board and pipe-section formats.
THERMAL · STRUCTURAL
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
Lightweight, moisture-resistant and structurally versatile. The workhorse of the building industry for roof, wall and floor insulation. Available in standard and high-density grades, CNC-cuttable to complex profiles.
THERMAL + ACOUSTIC · FIRE RATED
Rockwool (Mineral Wool)
Authorised sub-Saharan distributor. Outstanding fire performance, sound absorption and thermal insulation from natural basalt rock. Non-combustible and moisture-resistant across a wide temperature range.
HOT INSULATION · EXTREME TEMPERATURE
Ceramic Fibre Blankets
High-temperature ceramic fibre blankets for furnaces, kilns and industrial heating systems rated to 1400°C. Available in B96 and B128 grades in 25mm and 50mm thicknesses — where conventional insulation simply cannot perform.
THERMAL · EXTREME PERFORMANCE
Aspen Aerogels (Pyrogel & Cryogel)
The world’s thinnest, lightest flexible insulation. Pyrogel for hot service to 650°C, Cryogel for cryogenic service to -273°C. Three to five times better thermal performance versus conventional insulation at equivalent thickness.
CHEMICAL SYSTEMS
PU Chemical Systems
Two-component isocyanate and polyol resin systems for spray, machine or hand application. Custom-formulated to your density, reactivity and end-use requirements. Technical support and on-site training available.
ACOUSTIC · STUDIO & COMMERCIAL
Acoustic Foam Solutions
Sound absorption and isolation panels for recording studios, home studios, offices and commercial spaces. Flat, wedge and egg-crate profiles in a range of thicknesses and colours to suit any acoustic brief.
ELASTOMERIC · CONDENSATION CONTROL
AeroWrap® NBR
Flexible closed-cell NBR elastomeric foam for HVAC pipework, chilled water, refrigeration lines and condensation control. Self-adhesive and UV-stabilised grades available. The Aerothane alternative to Armaflex.
